Canon SC 2 on my 5D Mark II is not making a connection (no flash). What am I doing wrong. Flash is on w/good batteries and connections are tight. Display says flash is not on and incompatible flash. 430 EX II. Help please! Flash works fine on the camera.

It is possible to mount the flash backwards, hence no connection. Otherwise, a defective cord.
