Hello All,
Can anyone say whether the Sunpak RD2000 flash, or Sunpak Quantaray XLF-50, will work with....

*Powershot SX-1 camera or SX series cameras?

*Yongnuo yn-622 wireless triggers?

Also, what's the difference between the Sunpak RD2000 and Sunpak Quantaray XLF-50 as they seem identical?

Thanks,
Ralph

Same flash. It is branded as Quantaray XLF-50 for Ritz Camera(and their affiliate stores).

How about Adorama (external link). They don't have the Quantarray version but do have the Sunpak RD2000. The former can be found on Ebay though...

Thanks sbgagne. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I got a Canon 220ex flash for my wife's SX-1 but it doesn't work with Yongnuo yn-622's, which I'd like to use it on occasion.

Ralph

I doubt anyone will know, but you might ask in the flash forum. Due to the low output, this Sunpak is not a flash one would normally use off camera.

Thanks for your input but you really didn't contribute. I asked some specific questions in hopes someone may have some definitive answers or could guide me.

1) It's possible someone may own one of these and have used it as I've inquired.

2) If this flash can be used with a wireless trigger (yn-622) it could easily be used for some off-camera work and serve well. It has a guide number of 20 which would be more than sufficient as a hair light or background light.

Take care,
Ralph

I own one. Used it on my g12 and 60d. Worked well on both those. Much better than the onboard flash.

Hope this helps. It does not appear it will work with the YN-622 triggers

Thanks for your help sbgagne. That's disappointing but I'll research a little further to confirm what that gentleman stated.
