All of the reviews I have found are pretty dated, so I thought I would ask. I can't decide between these 2 lenses. Both have good reviews, but I would like some knowledgeable opinions from the fine folks at POTN.

Now, if you choose the practice of looking at pictures generated by a lens, you could glance at images such as these, which used a Canon 18-200mm image stabilizer lens. After you've actually used a Canon 18-200mm image stabilizer lens, you find that it's a good and effective unit that works well when pointed at three- dimensional subjects. However, many people "know" that no one should ever use superzoom lenses.

Among these situations, including those demonstrated here, are cases where it's too risky to get close to the subjects. Where circumstances include the risk of injury or death, it's best to either use a supertelephoto, such as the Sigma 150-500mm put to work here. In the case of the racing images, you'd either be dead or arrested if you got any closer. And, no one has figured out a way to hang in mid-air during a Thunderbirds performance.
