Excellent shots, though I think #1 is the better of the two. Having said that the way they hold their wings makes it difficult to get a clear shot of the head and thorax so going upwards a little as you did in #2 does give a bit more detail in the upper body.

Thanks Andres and yes, shot with the siggie 150-500mm (plus tubes) at the 500mm end.

1/160th sec at F8/F9, ISO 400, full zoom 500mm

I like the first one best. The wings create a nice mosaic effect. Plus, I like to imagine he is playing an instrument, using the spider web.
