Did some test shots with some Pentax SLR old film lens tonight on my Canon XSi . These images are the same image , same lens . I have the Adapter PK to Canon SLR . First shot is straight out of camera only resized to post here . Second shot is after I ran it through NIKS Software , Output Sharpener , Color Flex Pro and then Define NR . Any Cs'&Cs' welcome . Let me know if you see any improper distortion or Coma .

Checked your other sample too. Good shallow FOV.
I like the pp, worked very well.
Not sure of your sharpening parameters but if Radius is more than 1 I suggest a lower one say 0.7 then may be a tad lower sharpening Amount say ~150 (If yours is higher) that is reduce a beat of edge effect.

Can you show some image of infinity when aperture is fully open, preferably night sky, if clouds permit?

I used NIKS Output Sharpener which is set to default so it only sharpens a slight amount . However the Colorflex pro because of the color edit makes an image look more sharp so i may try some adjustment there . When i get a chance i'll try a tripod exposure tonight or this weekend when i have more time . With a 50mm lens exposures have to be between 20-25 secs cause star trails start showing close to 30 . I also have a real nice Pentax SMC 28mm . Not sure the f/stop , either f/1.8 or 2.0 or 2.8 . I can get close to 35-45 secs there before trailing starts . Thanks for the comments on the image .

Hey Maverick the link you posted is this same topic link . Did you mean to post another different link ? I have 5 lens i'm testing , all Pentax . 50mm , 28mm , 135mm , 70-210mm , and a 300mm f/4 (M42 mount) . As i have time i will test them for day and night shots . Only thing the zoom and 300mm exposures have to be short at night cause of trailing stars .

Here you go . First two are cropped at 50% and resized to 1024x . Camera on tripod using remote control . My 28mm I thought was a Pentax but been so long since I used them I forgot it was a Vivitar instead but the rest of my lens are Pentax .

These next two images are from my 80-200mm f/4 . Also cropped at 50% . All 4 pictures are best focus closest to infinity as I could get with widest aperture . For my eyes not too bad for focus . BTW all pictures are of Scorpio Heart , Antares . In the 200mm images you can barely see M4 just below and right of Antares .
