Hi all,

I'm going to be shooting some outdoor sports over the coming months and am looking for some ideas to keep my gear from getting wet should it rain while on the job

I'll be using a combo of 7d, 6d, 70-200 and 17-50.

Does anyone have any links to DIY solutions? or inexpensive ready made options? (I've spent all of my money already)

Thanks
Jason

Clear plastic bags and a rain poncho. You will look like a bum but it works for keeping gear dry, and it's very inexpensive to boot!

Tesco's carrier bag, other supermarkets are available. I always carry a couple in my camera bag together with some elastic bands, always useful.

Optech rain sleeves, very inexpensive (~$6-$7 for 2) and designed for cameras. Great product, works well. Has a draw string for tightening up around the lens and a hole for the eye piece. Well worth the couple of bucks. I always have a couple with my gear, just in case (In Western WA, more often than not)

As mentioned, OP/Tech (external link) makes a pleasantly inexpensive all-purpose rain cover. The Rainsleeve's (external link) small price and size make it a good choice for outdoor use.
