I was just looking to renew my supply of gaffer tape and found two alternatives on amazon.com available. Nice to have alternatives to choose from, but USED gaffer tape?! It raises some questions...

  • What do they do, collect used tape from photographers and respool it?
  • If so (respooled used tape), how do they rejoin the pieces together? If not joined, are the variable lengths of tape worth it, to save less than a buck vs. new tape?
  • And does it stick as well as the new stuff? If so, how did they clean up the adhesive...did they re-coat it?

;)

Amazon Warehouse Deals = Probably just a returned item/open package. I really doubt its been actually used and respooled.

It could be they used a foot or two out of the 30 yards, but most likely like Mike said it's probably just been opened.

Ya see, it's used PREMIUM gaffer's tape. With it being the premium, after the first use, it's grade really goes down to REGULAR gaffer's tape (which we all know does not command the same price as premium). It's just not premium anymore! :)

Or, maybe it was used... maybe someone used a few inches or feet and then returned it.

It's USED, but described as 'Like New'...do they dryclean the tape before respooling?

You might not like the humor (irony) of the posting on POTN, but the amazon.com ad was certainly REAL!
If I post used film on the For Sale section, would you buy from me?

I thought it was funny! There is always something on the used market...

Years ago, the Pope toured the US (locally I think, like Baltimore maybe?). I started seeing ads from Ebay for New and Used Popes! .....It takes a human to write those programs. :)

Wilt,

I thought it was pretty funny as I was reading your first post and could tell it was a joke. And a good one I might add!

Oh, good! When I get the chance I will list some used film for Sale.

Unfortunately you need a camera that takes 120 roll film. I can assure you I have taken no photos with said film. I have merely loaded it into a film magazine simply to test film advance, then removed the film from the film insert and rewound the roll back on the supply spool. Not in the dark, does that make any difference?

;)

Oh, for $25 that's a r@ppy (INVALID EMAIL) deal

Ad says 'acceptable' condition...does that mean that you get to use the OTHER side?!
