So I've got a 1Ds2 on the way to my house as we speak, and all the threads and comments I hear about the camera are great, but the battery is another story. The seller said one of the batteries is good, but the other one pretty much should just get tossed. I was wondering if you guys have had any experience with the 3rd party options and if there are any reliable brands to go with. I was kinda wishing by now they would have worked on a Lithium Ion replacement battery, but I guess that's not happening

I checked Sterlingtech, which is my go to for batteries, and they don't offer one for the 1Ds MkII.
B&H has this Pearstone brand for $40, a lot better than the $115 for the OEM.

I have no experience with Pearstone but the price difference would make it worth a gamble IMO.

Delkin, iirc, makes a Powerex replacement. You will have to remove the end caps from the OEM batteries and put them on the new batteries to ensure they function properly, but once that is done you will be surprised how much battery life you have.
