Mountainsmith makes camera bags you can wear in front. Ben Jacobsen did that. I haven't seen him post for a while.

This is a Mountainsmith bag that might attach to backpacks shoulder straps, in front. may work for some, not others...

I wanted a back pack that had a rain cover and room for my laptop so I got a Lowepro Fast Pack 350.

It works well and holds everything I need.
I can leave the computer home when hiking to keep the weight down. ;)
