Hey everyone I need some input. I have the IP8500, Kirkland glossy paper, Canon Inks, custom profiles (using Monaco) and all of a sudden I am getting banding on Kirkland paper as well as Ilford Classic gloss paper. (only the glossy stuff) I have tried all different types of setups, manual, auto, vivid, Photo Paper Pro, Photo Paper Plus Glossy. I dont have a clog head and I purchased a new one.. and the new and old one did the same thing.
I don't have any problems with the Canon papers nor the Ilford classic pearl.
I was thinking maybe Canon changed thier inks slightly to match thier glossy paper better but I can't imaging that being true.
Any thoughts, similar experiences.

Oh.. I know..many will say... don't use the paper, but I have had good success in the past, it is nice and inexpensive. More curious than anything else. Thoughts??

Your problem kind of confirms my suspicion that the Kirkland paper is re-branded Ilford. Banding probably isn't a profile problem. You might try a setting your print driver to a different type of paper, such as semi gloss or high gloss photo film. What does Ilford/Kirkland recommend for your printer? It is kind of odd that you didn't have the problem in the past... You're sure nothing has changed?

As an ip8500 owner, and Costco member, I'd love to know what profiles WILL work with Kirkland paper. I'm sure it's a lot cheaper than buying Canon paper. And if you eventually can't get the Kirkland to print correctly, take it back! You can't beat Costco's return policy.

The Ilford glossy profile works with my Epson 2200. Try it. I'm sure it's Ilford paper. What other major paper mfr. is in Switzerland?

On my i960 I use Classic Pearl with Pro Paper set up with the Print Advisor and then set the print quality all the way to Fine. If I use the straight Pro Paper set up, it will band.
