Hi all,

I was just informed I have a ticket to the Tuesday practice round for the Masters golf tournament. I am in the process of finalizing my travel plans and was looking for some info from people who have gone to this event already.

I will be bringing my Canon t2i and have a few options for lenses. It seems bags are an issue so i don't really plan to carry much besides the camera (on a black rapid strap) and the lens attached.

The site does not mention any restrictions for photo gear but i am sure there has to be something. All it says is cameras are allowed during practice rounds.

the lenses I own:
Sigma 10-20mm
Sigma 17-50 2.8
Canon 70-200L f/4 IS
Canon 55-250

Lenses I think i can get access to (through family or friends)
Tamron 18-270
Canon 70-300 L

What do you think my best bet is?

Any other tips would be great as well

thanks.

I would choose the 70-200L I haven't been to the masters but I have been to a golf tournament practice round and one lens is best, with that lens and camera you can get some nice full tee shots and close up on faces as well as pretty nice hole shots. I used the 55-250, I just like the 70-200 better.

Im better behind the lens then in front of it.

Heading to the WGC Bridgestone Invitational practice round tomorrow but have never shot a golf event before. For those who have shot PGA practice rounds, what are some things to remember? I know when I watch the guys inside the ropes shoot during the actual tournament they only shoot after the player has struck the ball in order to avoid distracting them; I assume the same goes for practice rounds?

If you can get a hold of the 70-300L that you listed, I'd go for that (70-200 if you can't). Take the Sgma 17-50 with too. You can sometimes get very upclose and personal around the tee boxes.
