I wonder if the 90ex flash is also on its way out? I see Adorama on Amazon only have 10 left and B&H were giving them away as part of the kit.

Not that it's much of a loss but I was hoping a better bounce-able compact flash would be released.

I'm hoping to find someone blowing out the 90EX flashes for a crazy price. I want a pair to play with as an ad hoc macro flash, way cheaper than an MT-24.

there's at least a few people on ebay selling the 90EX for $90, plus most of them have best offer listed as an option...with the market for these becoming more than it's ever been before, with people that either 1. bought the kit, and want to sell the flash to make it cheaper, or 2. got the flash for free from b&h at $299 i'd bet you could snag one for $75

Ha! May be, but take it from me it wont be an MT-24EX no matter how hard you try! That macro flash is a heck of a thing to have if you are into real macro! Pair it with the MP-E 65mm and you have a combo like no other!

I'm not expecting it to be an MT-24. I'm just thinking that they are a nice small, light flash that could possibly make for a usable macro flash setup on the cheap. Nothing more.

It can be $800 MSRP if it is a high end unit. The NEX 7 and NEX 6, OM-D and Fuji XE-1 all sell great at $700-1000. The current M was a very entry level camera, more like a NEX-3N or an Olympus E-PL5, which were $500 MSRP.

Nex has a great sensor with better low light and dynamic range. Also a decent selection of primes, and features that make it very easy to use with old manual focus glass. Their entry level model can be had under $400 and has the same sensor as Nex 6. They can use any of Sony and Minolta AF lenses with adapter. Their biggest problem is the lack of a compact fast high quality zoom.

Olympus has a very well developed line with tons of lenses.

Fuji has the top of the mirrorless market.

I fail to see where EOS M fit here. Canon had a great opportunity to utilize their strengths in lens design and body design to carve up a large part of the market (primarily from Oly) but instead came up with a rather underwhelming and overpriced body and only a couple of native lenses. It make the most sense as a smaller 2nd body for someone who already had a collection of Canon lenses, which is not a market wining strategy.

I was hoping they would fix it all with Eos M Mkll but looks like their reaction is more of "OK so we blew it, nice knowing ya !"

Ex-Canon shooter. Now Sony Nex.
