Heather Calder became the first woman to win a round of the British Sprint Championship since 1970 at Knockhill on Saturday.
1. Heather driving the Gould GR55, whcih accelerates faster than an F1 car I was told (no minimum weight limit for hillclimb and sprint cars, with a Nicholson McLaren Cosworth 650bhp engine).
2. Ex BTCC Primera driven by Colin Metcalfe spent as much time spinning as it did going straight ahead.
3. Mark Smith locks up when braking for the hairpin at 140+mph
4. Heather's younger sister Louise set a time fast enough to qualify for the top 12 run-off, but was only entered for the Junior championship!
5. Graham Porrett in his Lola Judd coming over the top of the chicane
6. A lucky capture in one of the supporting races. Was changing lenses when I saw Peter Cruickshank's Fiesta coming into the corner a bit quickly. Twisted the lens into place and pressed the shutter as he went over the sausage kerb on the inside. This one is cropped quite a bit as I didn't have time to zoom in!
