this was shot in the Okanagan, British Columbia around Peachland(Kelowna) and i am having a tough time identifying it. i had to crop quite a bit but hopefully someone can help me out.

i'm looking in my National Geographic Birds of Western North America and there's a Clark's Nutcracker that looks darn close.

I think you should go back to Okanagan Mike and find this bird and get a good shot :) It's a beautiful place anyway, specially around the lake :) But it does look like a CN :)

I was thinking of posting this bird for an ID check as well, I think it is the same bird. This was taken in Lake Tahoe last Saturday. Can someone confirm please. (BTW, didn't have a very pleasing bird call)

PixelPusher, that's also a Clark's Nutcracker. Nice shot. Whenever I see these they're way up in a tree or flying high overhead.

Thanks for the ID, pretty good size bird. With the small fluffy feathers in the chest area I wasn't sure if this was a juvenile of some kind at first.
