Time to play guinea pig! OEM LP-E6 batteries for $17.95 from China

Well as one of the new guys here I thought I'd take a chance on these and share what I find. I'm hoping all goes well, I'd love to be the one to find OEM LP-E6 batteries for under $20.00. Giving back as it were...

Never forgetting that misery loves company, I decided to share my find before I actually get my hands on the product.
Just in case anyone else is feeling adventurous.

These are from eBay seller abc_battery, they have a feedback score of 99.5% with 791 sales. All of the feedback for the LP-E6 batteries seems to indicate that these are the real deal. We'll see...

Don't Wasabi batteries go for $15 on Amazon? SterlingTek LP-E6 battery also goes for $19.99. I suppose more options is always better?

I highly doubt these are OEM.

I use Wasabi batteries and I love them! No point in ordering these from ebay honestly. I would recommend Wasabi to anyone. They are reliable and communicate with the camera.

Fakes being passed on as genuine. They fake everything there. Have you heard of the fake Apple store?

You knew its a fake and you still ordered it...and 3 of them? Should of just spent the money on strippers.

There are plenty of other more reliable after market batteries that cost less or the same and will do a better job. There's a thread in the accessories forum about canon and their anti counterfeit program.

I bought wasabi's of Amazon & paid $30 for 2 batteries and a charger, always nice having an extra charger around. I've had no problems using them in a 60D so I assume they are chipped for proper communication with the camera.

I bought 4 from another ebay seller, total comes to under $40. I have been using them for the past 2 months. Only issue is the capacity is lower (I estimate 60-80% of the oem battery). Otherwise they work just like the oem batteries.

I hope it works out for the OP, but I'd rather buy legit 3rd party batteries rather than take a chance with possible (probable) counterfeit "OEM" batteries.

1 of my SterlingTek started to give me an error. I called SterlingTek up and they sent me a replacement and shipped it via FedEx overnight. My other SterlingTek batteries work like a champ.

I'm pretty sure these are fakes... in fact I bought and received one already, and there are subtle differences between my OEM one.

While I commend you on your adventurousness, I'd suggest reading this thread, and being very diligent about determining if the batteries are genuine before putting them in you camera.

I've ordered SterlingTek LP-E6 batteries via Amazon @ $15 a few month ago. One of them didn't work in the 5DII (the camera could not communicate with the battery), so I've emailed STK CS and they overnighted a replacement battery. Not sure why you'd want to try the "OEMs" from EBay when STK has good batteries with warranty and excellent support for less money.

A few years back we used to by off brand batteries because they all had HIGHER capacity then OEM.

I would much rather pay for an off brand that was not pirating itself as genuine. The Wasabi's I have are great.
