Has anyone tried doing this? What softwares needed to trigger 30 cameras all at the same time? Are there any delays in triggering per cam? What software are you using to covert the photos to mpg file.

Thanks in advance.

Without better info from you, the easiest way would be to do it in a dark room, put the cameras all on time exposure, & use a sound trigger to trip a strobe.

Harold Edgerton (external link) was stopping time decades ago with specialized cameras and lighting.

Is this (external link) what you are talking about?

You might be able to contact them on how they do it.

Breeze Systems has offered suitable software (external link) for several years.

Hi sorry for late replies. Anyway i've a project that needs bullet-time effect. They wanted this effect on their event. After taking the shots it will be converted to video and send through Bluetooth to the guests.

Just wondering how do i trigger say 30 cameras, and if im going to use USB cable wouldn't be any delay in capturing the subject from each camera? What the fastest software do i use to covert all files to video?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Can it be triggered simultaneously at the same time without the sound trigger? As it will be used in an event. There will be lots of noise.

been checking this out. Mailed them also but they said i need a "relay" to fix the delay of each cameras. The relay thing is so complicated as i don't know anyone who can program the relay switch and master trigger.

USB means you need to communicate with each camera - not good since it takes time.

Best option is to use cameras that takes a remote control - use the RC input to trig them.

Can be done with older cameras that uses IR, and can be done with all that have a traditional wire input.

If using cameras with IR remote input, then it takes a bit of electronics skill - basically a IR-sensitive photo transistor, a driver transistor and a number of IR LED and resistors - this allows you to tape an LED on each camera you want to control.

Edit: And you want all cameras to be same model, to make sure there aren't any significant differences in shutter lag. And same model makes it easier to make sure all cameras has the same configuration.

But a question then would be to have 30 receivers or splice cable to connect to the 30 cameras. Anything that activates the trig input on the camera can be used - as long as there are no random delays affecting different cameras differently.
