Hey friends!

Just read a really wonderful eBook I thought I'd share my thoughts about. It's called "Living Landscapes: A Guide to Stunning Landscape Photography," written by two amazing photographers from New Zealand, Todd and Sarah Sisson.

The book itself is super helpful.. Lots of useful tips on gear, composition, post-processing, exposure, panaormas, exposure, you name it. It's over 130 pages, you you're really getting you're moneys worth! It's seriously like a Landscape Bible. I love it.

Here's my review if anyone is curious: http://www.learnmyshot.com …-Photography-eBook-Review (external link)

Anyway, just wanted to put my two cents out there! Anyone else know any good eBooks for landscape photography? This is the best I've found, but I'm always open to recommendations...

I learned just by looking at photographs and analyzing why they work. Anything by Ansel Adams is a good starting point. His book, 40 photographs describe his thought process and technique in detail. Excellent source. I also studied fine art and you can learn a lot about composition by looking at masterworks.

Film: Leica M-4, Elan 7E, Rolleiflex 2.8f, Pentax 645 -- Digital: Canon Pro-1, EOS 5D Mk III
EOS Lenses: Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX - Canon EF 17-40 f4.0L - Canon EF 24-105 f4.0L - Canon EF 35 f1.4L USM - Canon EF100-400 f4.5-5.6L IS USM - Canon EF100 f2.8 Macro - Other stuff: MR 14EX - 430EX - 580EXII - ST-E2 - TC1.4x - TC-80N3

I thought this one was excellent. Ian Plant's Visual Flow. (external link) (I've suggested it somewhere on this site before, but no one reads everything here)

I'll add, after reading your review, this has no technical tips, it is strictly composition, and Ian Plant really knows his stuff.

I never read any books technical about photography. Went to a book store and looked at photo books on subjects - like Marc Meunch or Rowell, Art Wolfe, etc. I guess I am old school :)

This looks good, I think I'm going to have to get this. I like Ian and George and the tile says a lot IMO - 'flow' being something I consider important in landscapes..

Thanks for the recommendation. Bought it, read it, and enjoyed it thoroughly. An excellent resource.
