Got bored yesterday, decided to go out to the main line near the house and catch a couple of the evening lines passing through. My first was this Norfolk Southern cargo train......it was approaching pretty slow, I'd guess around 35mph.....

Out of nowhere, I heard a rumble in the sky. To my surprise, I see a F15E zipping southbound overhead at low altitude. I ripped the Canon out of the tripod and whipped it up, missed the first one......but got the second one. Two eagles from Seymour Johnson AFB......hauling the mail pretty close to earth. Too cool, especially being airshow deprived this year. I was stoked!

After the F15's flew over, I didn't even care about the Amtrak that was due to pass through my area just 15 min....but I decided to stay. The 400mm was a bit too much for my spot, barely got it in frame......nice looking engine. Currently spotting out some different areas to use my 400mm more affectively for some good shots.

I looked for him the both photos, I can see the silhouette of someone in another pic. Not sure what he was doing.
