This is the date code of my 300mm 2.8 L non is... anybody care to hazard what the second letter is meant to be? Wiki says these lenses were produced between 87 and 98...a "chipped" F would make sense, but am I missing somethingg?

If it is an 'F', then it's 1991. Both letters fit in the range of production years. If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?
