Hello everyone,
'My' meteor shower is coming up here in a week or so (The Perseids shower peaks right on or around my birthday ), and I'd like to have a good lens to photograph the Milky Way and stars, as well as hopefully a meteor or 20.
Do you have any idea of a pretty cheap wide angle lens with a quick aperture? I have the 17-40 f4L, but I'd like to have something wider and faster. I thought about the Rokinon 8mm f3.5, but it's not a ton faster. (It is, however, $250! :D)
Any thoughts or recommendations?
Thanks!

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

tokina 11-16mm is f2.8 if you are using crop body. Samyang 14mm (or rokinon) as mentioned above is another good one but this lens is for full frame, so it will become 22mm ish in crop body camera. Samyang 14mm is really good lens and it's quite cheap, so if you have full frame body, samyang can be a good choice.
