Can anyone help me? I have scanned thru the posts but cannot see this topic covered.
I have just bought an EOS 1D Mk II which has v.1.0.2 firmware loaded. I note from the Canon Japan support web page that there is a v.1.2.4. Having (twice) downloaded the file to my CF card the size says 6,571 KB but the instructions say a size of 6.41MB (6,727,791bytes) and warns against proceeding if they are different sizes.

Which is correct? Any alternate sites to download the latest firmware?

Ooops sorry! I have just read the thread for EOS 1D Mk II N firmware file descrepancies and looks like a similar problem and solution.
