This is interesting - was just checking prices on the Siggy 35 and found something I've never found on an Amazon product information page: a notification that due to customer feedback, Amazon is reviewing their stock in the item to ensure they don't have a bad inventory.

Anyone got any dirt on this? Theories?

I would expect that a lens which really had issues would have more negative reviews than this one currently has on a site like amazon where people are quick to give 1 star reviews for poor packaging or slow shipping without even looking at the item itself.

I saw it on the Voigtlander 20 pancake for Canon about a week ago on Amazon.

Perhaps too many returns?

I'm guessing that a red flag goes up after a certain percentage of returns - Amazon must be top of the pile for data analysis - since their sales volume is high - the data is generally worth analyzing....you would think.....

I know I had to return 3 of those lenses due to noticeable AF issues. However, I continue to want to repurchase it due to it's amazing qualities... I wish Sigma would iron it out or I would at least get a good copy.

I assume Amazon is tracking the returns, notices a trend, and looks in to it before it continues and causes them issues.

Sorry, though it was pretty funny. Never seen this before. Paints a picture...

it's probably due to the terrible one sentence description of:
Delivers high-level artistic quality

canon is the only mount that has it listed under review...it is a pretty bad description for what it is, so it's either that, or lensguy has created 100's of amazon profiles to try and make it look bad...he was pathetic enough to create two here....

Either one of those seems more credible than actual problems with this lens given the lack of reports and negative reviews!
