Good eye. Yeah I noticed the halo on the ears afterwards. I don't think I really sharpened that much but oh well. Live an learn. Thanks

Sometimes if the contrast is high enough you can even see the halo with no sharpening or any other processing applied. My default LR input is totally flat, with WB As Shot, and literally everything else zeroed out, using the Adobe Standard profile. I was just processing an image where I noticed the halo, and had to run a local brush adjustment around the outside of the subject. Not a brilliant shot on my part, but it shows the issue. This is after I have tried to deal with the Halo, and the output sharpening seems to pretty much to have put it back
