My girlfriend's mom has a 996 911 Targa. It's a 6spd too.

The thing is great fun to drive... but boy are these cars unreliable. It averages two tows a year... And we're a pretty damn meachnically inclined bunch of people, so these aren't little problems either.

top gear is awesome! they test the cars the way we want to see it. to its fullest capabilities.
it gets annoying though whenever they bash american cars BUT their arguments are usually founded so... i think the only american carthey like is the GT40 and they even criticize that for getting 14mph to the gallon. oh well.

What were the problems encountered? I have only heard good things do far about reliability.

I like porshes...even though that must not be coming across in my posts. My point was that my money is better spent elsewhere. Unless I hit it big, i doubt I will ever own a vehicle over 35k. I wasnt tryin to bring down the value of the 911, or discredit ability. I was just stating that there are some other hi-performance vehicles for much less than the 911...but is any of this really relevant to a photography forum...?

I think we are all entitled to our own opinions, last time i checked.

Great! However I wanted to see what pictures people on this forum have taken of the 911 ( or other Porsches )

But there are a lot of great 911 shots on the web.

Check out:

NOTE - I did not take this photograph.

In my opinion this is the most beautiful, perfectly engineered piece of machinery on the market today.

I am hoping that others here also appreciate the beauty.
Has anyone had the opportunity to photograph a 911?
Show them!

Not to photoghraph it, but to drive it, several times. Does it counts ? :)

Nice car, but I think that's a computer generated image and not a photograph.

I probably have a couple hundred Porsche pics, but these few are of cars you wouldn't see everyday!

First is a 935. Second a 962. Pics are nothing special, but you ge the idea -great Porsche's :)

Enjoy!
