Has anyone tried one of these monitors yet? The reviews of them are great and obviously the price is right compared to others.

They have a 27" and a 30"

They have cheap cables for everything from industrial to everyday use and I go them for cables all the time.

For other stuff, I would read it.

For that monitor, I would pick it up. It seems like it's a LG display with Monoprice logos and different outer plastic frame design.

I am going to give one of the 27" versions a try. I should have it sometime this week. I will report back and let you know once I have spent some time with it.

I've got one Korean/LG 27" IPS screen monitors which I believe is the same as this.

It's been over a year since I got it and I don't know how I lived without 2560x1440 for so long.

I actually totally expected that this monitor would not last more than a year so I have a Dell U2410 as well. The U2410 isn't bad but it takes some time to warm up a bit when I first turn it on in the morning whereas the 27" is just boom, bright as soon as you turn it on.

I just went to their will call to pick up some CAT6 cable and they had the 27" on display. It Looked very nice. The frame is actually metal and not plastic. The stand is plastic and not terribly sturdy. It would look great on a monitor arm though. I might be picking up two in the near future.

I have a 27". It seems much like any tech product that's priced unreasonably low compared to the name brands: there's the potential for getting a grand bargain, but their QC is quite lacking. Reminds me a lot of my Samyang 14mm lens, actually.

I ordered mine back in January. It arrived with a pixel-perfect panel, but the plastic bezel was warped on the bottom to the point that it covered up a sliver of the panel (perhaps 2-3 rows of pixels). There was no way to fix it, so it had to be sent back for a replacement. The second one arrived in great shape, except the stand (already quite flimsy and wobbly in design, mind you) wouldn't completely attach. I thought I got it jammed in well enough and went on using it for a few months, before the stand finally gave way, sending the whole unit tumbling face-down onto my desk and resulting in an area of damaged pixels.

Back it went (under warranty) for copy #3. By that time, they'd replaced the original model with a slightly-modified version that has tempered glass and a better stand. Copy #3 showed up with, yet again, a pixel-perfect panel -- except there was a large piece of dust trapped beneath the glass near the center of the panel. Back to the UPS Store. Finally, I received my current monitor (#4). No dead or stuck pixels and no dust, but the backlight bleed is quite severe -- far worse than any of the first three, and really quite distracting when watching movies. At this point, I've given up on the UPS shuffle and decided to live with it.

Maybe I'm just mercilessly unlucky (wouldn't be the first time in my life). But my impression is that these units are so cheap because a) some of the panels are marginally flawed, and (b) there's zero QC in the process of putting together the actual monitors (e.g., my warped bezel and trapped dust). I know some of these issues crop up even with Dell, NEC, or whoever else, but it's hard to imagine it's this bad.

What I will give Monoprice a ton of credit for is honoring their return policy and warranty. There's zero doubt that they've lost money on my transaction at this point, but they never balked at sending me new monitors when requested. So, given their prices are barely any higher than the Korean eBay sellers from whom this kind of customer service wouldn't be possible, I'd strongly recommend Monoprice if you're looking to spend $400 or less.

Monoprice is the place to go. I have had issues with wrong parts being shopped so I emailed them and got the right cable. All I had to do was show a photo of the cable they sent with the label and it was labeled wrong. They sent me a new one and didn't want wrong one. I have no use so it sat and collected dust for a year. I ended up just throwing it away.

But from my experience made them look good and they did the right thing. It wasn't an expensive cable but the principle is what matters to me.

If I saved a few hundred, I can't complain. I will pick up that monitor soon to replace my old one.

Ok I got the monitor and of course my video card didn't support it so I had to get a new one that supports Dual Link DVI to get the highest possible resolution of this monitor and I have to say that it was totally worth it. This monitor is absolutely gorgeous and has a ton of setting options that I haven't even played with yet. I will calibrate it tomorrow even though from what I am seeing it doesn't need much =)

One thing to keep in mind as many people have mentioned the build of the monitor itself is impressive the bezel is a nice metal finish and all of the control are behind the right side and easily accessible. The only complaint I would have is the stand it comes with feels to cheap / cheesy compared to the monitor itself. Also worth mentioning is that this monitor doesn't have a build in power supply that you connect the power cord directly to. That said it comes with a huge AC Adapter Brick and the cord from it to the monitor is pretty short. It also gets VERY warm in a short period of time which makes me wonder how long it will last.

So far with only a few hours of use I am very, very impressed with this monitor. I will post more after I get some more time with it this weekend.

Don't know how much it's worth since 27" is too big for me.

That right there is a 20% off coupon code folks! It brought my 27" from $390 to $312! Too bad I don't need one.

I thought I would update everyone now that I have had a chance to use this monitor for a while. I absolutely love this monitor, it is HUGE and impressive image quality. I replaced two 22" Monitors and I am so glad that I did.

One thing worth mentioning is that I haven't been able to get my Calibrator (Spyder 3 Pro) to work with this monitor, it keeps saying that it is way to bright to get it in the range. I don't know if it is because of how reflective it is or not. Obviously I want to get it calibrated at some point.

For the price this is an amazing monitor and HUGE - Keep in mind the size as placement can be an issue. I have a desk with a "Over-Bridge" when I put the monitor on it I ended up straining to see it. I picked up an inexpensive Desk Mount Arm and placed it lower than the over-bridge and it is pretty much perfect now.
