Just a quick shot from this past weekend's wedding. They got most everything in before the storm hit. Photos were cut a bit short, but we still managed to make some great shots. More photos coming soon.

For those of you interested, this was taken in Westcliffe, CO in front of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Such a beautiful wedding.

That's awesome. Love the feel. They are relatively small in the frame - hopefully they buy a huge print to compensate ;)

Flash behind the tree in the center?

I have a few more frames a bit tighter, but the wider helps tell a story. You are correct about the flash placement. I really could have used a softbox to help the light wrap a bit better, but meh, it works.

Cool. Oh yeah, I love this one how it is, compositionally. The lighting looks just fine as well imo.

Great shot! What type of light did you have hidden behind that tree?

I believe it was an AlienBee 800 with a Vagabond battery. Not difusing the light made it a bit harsh, which meant I had to tone it down in post. Usually, we have a 580EX with a 24" softbox attached, but it didn't make it to the ceremony site, and we didn't have time to run back to base to get it.

I would like to know exactly what went through your mind in putting this couple way out in the field with threatening weather on their wedding day. If you enter this one in a contest you will probably be asked something like that when interviewed as the grand prize winner.
