Michigan birds using 400mm 2.8 ii

Over the weekend, I had a chance to capture some different birds using this new lens. Some of the pictures were taken with the 1.4iii teleconverter. I must say that it would be a real workout to use this lens all day.

The background blur on this lens is amazing. Behind the hummingbird was just grass - I was shooting it though a window on the 2nd story porch pointing down. I did clean the window first.

Very well done.

Yes on the Grosbeak but not sure of the species.

The last looks to be a juvi not sure on the species though.

The last is a juvie Common Grackle, it sure is heavy, a tripod is a must with that beast!

You managed to snap a surprising number of molting birds! Cool shots.

Your grosbeaks are a pair of Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. Both appear to be immature (this year's chicks).
