Went for a drive round the Fife coast yesterday, hoping to get some shots of the water, but everything turned flat and grey(could not tell where sea ended and sky began) :( . We stopped at Elie by the beach for a fish supper and were sitting munching away, when the sun broke through as you see here, the way the light and colour changed was amazing. So was the mad scramble to get camera out and get onto beach to get this shot  . The whole thing only lasted 3 - 4 minutes. Photo slightly cropped and resized for web. Only processing was to clone out rain drops that spattered onto UV lens filter.

So Jackie,
That is the Firth of Forth, on the coast of Fife and the weather was flat, and you had fish?

I got through all of that with not a drop to drink.

Nice shot, just hard to say quickly 3 times. :D

Nice shot Jackie
I was reading a book about lowlight photography at work last night.

I guess it's something all us in Scotland need to master when the weather is like this.

Thank you Reigh, was the colours that got me. Never cease to wonder at the effects light gives us. I need to learn to do it justice.

  John I had half a fish, hubby had scoffed it by time I got back along with his own. And I did not have anything to drink either  But made up for it a wee bit when I got home ;) Thanks for looking.

Thank You Rickc glad you liked it.

Dimitri ... Thank you. not sure who it was who said photography is painting with light, but it is great to get the opportunity to try.

Thank you Buggbairn, and you could not have said a truer word about the light. What is the book you were reading?
