So, my daughter and I are spending a week in Boston and New England. I am taking my 5D3 was planning on bringing my 35 1.4 and either my 16-35 or my 24-105.

Should I take:

a) take the 35 and 16-35
b) take the 35 and 24-105
c) take the 16-35 and 24-105
d) take all three.
e) take a different combination.

I am trying to keep this a "light" trip

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

All you need in Boston is the 24-105. Usually I take an UWA when traveling to cities, but 24mm on a FF camera is wide enough for Boston and surrounding towns. Not sure about the 35, where you could use it. I use a fast telephotos for indoors, for churches and museums, you should figure it out on your own where you find it useful.

You should defintely take all three lenses. There would be different places that would be perfect with either lens.

Of course there will be perfect places for each lens. But we are talking about traveling. How many shots will be taken with the other lenses? Is it worth carrying considerable extra weight? Sure,y not to me. When traveling to cities, I usually had three lenses with me, an ultrawide, a normal zoom, and a normal fast prime. But since I got a 15-85, I am planning to leave the UWA at home. And in Boston I don't think there will be many opportunities to use a prime.

Thank you for all the responses. I just got back - literally. I used the 16-35 about 90% and the 35 1.4 10% In the city, the 16-35 seemed to be the right lens, at least for me.

Thanks again for the comments.
