Here's a shot in the dark, but are there many Sigma users in the house? I saw that the Fuji guys have a thread and was tempted to start one for the Sigma.

I wouldn't be surprised if this thread sees zero replies :D.

Hope to see anything shot with your Foveon sensors - DP1/2/3 classic/x/s/Merrill, SD15/SD1 and anything I missed.

Kicking things off, some random shots while playing around with my DP 2 Merrill.

Let's see some of those filmic, colorful, smooth, extremely detailed foveonic '3d' photos!

I suspect this thread won't get much action.

I enjoyed photos from it on Flickr. To me it is best cropper in IQ department so far.
Too bad the DP cameras seems to be total lemons.

Looks Good.
FOVEON will become mainstream in future.
How does it look at pixel peep levels and anything radical differ on processing ??
Why is car distorted ??

I wouldn't call them total lemons. ;) All of mine in this thread are taken with the DP2M, granted they're not stellar photos, the image quality itself definitely seems to be.

Pixel peep level is where it's at with FOVEON. Alongside Medium Format cameras, I can safely say the Foveon cameras are the pixel peepers best friend. :)

The car is distorted because it's a reflection. ;)

Processing was minimal on these.

Here's one more, just added very little X3Fill on this (0.3 IIRC).

Can you elaborate? My DP1M and DP3M produce better images than my 5Dii, even with L or Zeiss lenses.

If I were to hazard a guess, he is likely referring to the quirks of the camera.

I love mine to death.

If they made these with a canon lens mounts I'd definitely grab one, but having to buy a whole new set of lenses, and no "high end" option keeps me from getting one.

If I had endless money I'd grab one with a sigma 17-55 f2.8 or that new f1.8 zoom as a nice walkaround camera when I'm not actually out to shoot.

It's interesting that this thread should come up at this time, given the growing excitement about a rumored/imminent 7DII. I recall seeing a rumor where Canon filed a patent on a sensor with three layers of RGB pixel elements, which is the basis of the Foveon sensor. If this is true and the follow on to the 7D comes out with it, there will be competition (and perhaps lawsuits).
