Star trail and Milky Way on Mount Evans

Drove up Mount Evans last night. It was raining/sleeting until dark, was worried I wasn't going to get a clear sky. Luckily, it broke soon after. I don't do star shots very often, trying to step up my game.

From the parking lot @ 14,130 feet elevation. Looking up at the top of the peak. 24 minutes of exposure, 30 seconds at a time (48 shots roughly). There were some gaps due to clouds.

From Summit Lake, looking back up at Mount Evans. Fighting lots of orange ambient light.

The first 2 are quite stunning.
And on the third love that little bit of lightning.
looks like on the last one you had a bit of tripod shake, try using a 2-3 kg sand bag and hang it off the structure of your tripod, should help to eliminate it :)

Yeah, it was pretty windy up there. Shook my $100 tripod a bit :lol:
