So I have been using Huginn for making a few panoramas and quite like it!
Just it will not do more than one layer of photos...i.e. it will happily do a single layer with say 10 phtoso, but I would like some software that will do say 3 layers of 10 photos.

Suggestions?

Been googling but not sure what I should be googling for, "multi layer panorama" doesnt seem to yield much.

You mean multiple rows? It should be able to do that pretty easily, as long as you have enough vertical overlap as well as horizontal for the software to find and match features in the images.

Or do you mean multiple exposure sets for HDR or exposure fusing? (should be able to do that pretty easily as well).

Photoshop photomerge does a staggeringly good job at this but, again, you need to make sure you have decent overlaps.

I created this shot: http://johnloydall.co.uk/landscapes/francebig.html (external link) from about 30 shots - 3 layers of 10 shots.

In photoshop - File > Automate > Photomerge.

You might find that the merge comes out a little odd in shape so I just use the warp tool to straighten up the merge into a usable shot.

I love shooting large landscapes this way - shooting at a longer focal length and then merging multiple layers of a panorama - you get that nice compression of perspective so things like mountains in the distance appear nice and large. It's a great way to make your shots look huge.

I'm not certain about "multiple layers" but I have been using PTgui (external link) for stitching panos recently and find it to be brilliant!
