I got invited over the weekend to take pet pictures at the TSC Nationwide pet event this upcoming Saturday.
It's at a location near me and I am super excited. The mgr told me all the customers are most excited about pet pictures too.
Has anyone ever done this? Have anything to share?
I do have 2 questions:
1. Should I use a backdrop or natural? If it were you getting the pics at an event what would you prefer? I figure I'll have to set up a tent overhead to block the sun. I have a few grey backdrops and a few kids ones that look like wood. I also considered plain white vinyl. I want something versatile based on the weather.
2. Most importantly: Have to finalize how to sell prints. I've worked for some sporting events and they sold prints and printed them the day of. I'm not really set up for that yet and I'd rather do nice papers from the lab for the people. I could prob pull that off, but I would really rather not. I am thinking of doing it like I do my preschool: an order form with a few packages, they can pay there and I''ll ship the prints. I may or may not throw in a digital that I can deliver as well. What do you think? Would people be hesitant to pay and not receive the print the day of?
Thanks in advance and if anyone has any light to shed on this I'd appreciate to hear your experience. The mgr told me they have never had a pet photographer before and I can do whatever I want, basically.
