I am new to this night sky photography -so I am not real versed in all the names of stuff in the sky - I have been shooting the last 2 nights at the Milky way in hopes of getting a Meteor to pass but not much luck - however I did like the small "spiral galaxy" type feature that I captured in the lower right side of the picture -all of the shots that I took in this area showed this feature - I am sure some one can give me the name - I would appreciate it -
I was using a Skytracker - that is cool no star trails and good long exposure

this is the only one I got with a meteor

Well done. That's the Andromeda galaxy. Also known in geek-speak as M31.
