Better than I tend to do. I have one shot of a kestrel in my collection-and several hundred of other raptors. In four years of trying, I have seen exactly one that was on a natural perch. My wife had the camera that day.

I made around 20 specific trips to an area where they frequent. Never could get close to one that didn't require cropping the heck out of. The next trip one landed right above my head, couldn't focus on it due to my lens set to the minimum focus setting being too long. The next second a hummingbird came to chase it away and I had maybe one second to change the setting and get the shot!

I did get it though... :)

Nice shot, love the banked turn of the one flying off.

Beautiful shot. They are very difficult to capture close ups unless you have a supertele.

One of the hardest to get a decent shot of and, as Mother Nature would have it, one of the prettiest. Very well done.
