Damian, that's what I've been testing for Cheetah. The Cells-IIc does work with the 5DIII and 1Dx. I did one quick test with a 6D with the help of a Canon rep. It didn't work, which surprised the Canon rep and me. Naturally his fall back was that the 6D worked with Canon 600EX and they couldn't be responsible for compatibility with third party equipment.

Edward at Cheetah is aware of this and working with Godox to get it fixed. I know from a lot of testing that it works fine with the 5DIII. If you are getting the Cells-IIc outside the US I'm not sure how to be certain its really the version with the updated firmware. Godox, as far as I know, has not changed the name on their version.

Thanks for your help, I thought the 6D might me questionable, I'm guessing it has slower curtain speed, hens X-sync of 1/180s
Where as the 5D3 has the same speed as the 5D3 which was confirmed to be compatible. But its good to be reassured, thanks.

The Cells II listed on Cheetah.com does not mention revision "c" do you know if there is a difference?

Also, is the firmware user upgradable?

The latest patch that Cheetah received from Godox has the updated firmware. I know that Edward knows which is which. I'd just make sure that you specify that its for the 5DIII.

There is no USB port or other data connection on the Cells-II housing so I doubt that the firmware can be upgraded in the field. It may even be that they had to do some rework on the board.
