I was taken by surprise with this. I had just finished photographing the Big Horn at Logans Pass as the sun had just dipped below the mountains and was packing up to leave. Another tog arrived and told me there was going to be a full moon rise at about 9pm, gear back out and set up. It was weird moon rising in front of me and the sky was still fairly bright behind me. This is what I got.

Nice shot of a moonrise. Do you ever wonder how many great shots we miss? Who knows how many times we are walking along a trail and there is a bear standing behind us thumbing its nose at us.

This DID happen to us at Yosemite this year! Of course, when we noticed him some German girl screamed and the bear took off!

Nice moonrise.

Ditto. Whilst on safari in the Serengeti our driver spotted a Leopard crossing the track in front of us. The driver pulled forward and stopped by a rock outcrop that the Leopard had run behind. Leaning out of the window saw the Leopard crouched on a ledge head height looking at my wife about four feet directly in front of my wife, (sat 3 seats behind me), as I raised my camera to get a shot my wife said I can not see it. Pulling my head back inside I told my wife right in front of you....a loud scream and the Leopard took off running. I did not speak to my wife for a couple of hours.
It turns out she thought the Leopard had kept on going when it went behind the rock and she was looking in the distance.

Know how you felt. It's not every day you get to photograph a Leopard! We mostly saw them at night when I was in Africa.
