Sorry if I missed this, but I'm wondering what folks think about the reinvention of this lens for Nikon and Canon:

Seems interesting. Seems like a specialized lens like a Lens Baby. If nothing else, that brass lens looks really cool :)

too expensive. It is likely just a fad.

Fuji XE-1, Zeiss ikon, Hasselblad; I love shooting film as a conceptual idea :)

Interesting, but like all modern Lomo stuff, overpriced.

I thought it was odd at first, but I actually think it'd be awesome for video due to how it focuses.

Yeah there was a thread. Nostalgia can be cool. But in this case the bokeh simply hurts my eyes, harsh ringed and truly awful. No thanks, leave it in the past in this case.

I saw the kickstarter project. Nice cool lens, but price is steep. Someone recommend the Helios 44-3 58mm instead. It produces a similar swirling bokeh. So I got one from ebay for 40 bucks + m42 adapter. I couldn't be happier.

Nothing sucks the charm out of a novelty lens like a $500 price tag.

The genuine article or the Helios could be had many, many times over for that much.

I never shoot with my center focus point. End of story.
