Took this in Gatlinburg, Tennessee on the roaring fork motor trail...

Please offer any suggestions and critique.

Thanks,
Bill

With a little more water... but, we can't have everything I guess. It's a pretty setting anyway.

The composition is very good. The processing is nice, but could possibly use a little tweeking to make sure the viewer follows the line you want. I would start by making it brighter, then burn in the two trees on the left to tone them back down. The extra brightness will light up the moss on the rocks and lead the viewer up the creek. I would darken the tops of the trees in the back/center to keep the viewer from following them out of the picture. I would add a touch of yellow hue to the roundish bush back near the far trees on the right of the creek. Next, darken the bush between the creek and the dark rock about midway back. That will keep the viewer coming forward again, straight back to the foreground. The natural shape of the rocks will keep the viewer back in the picture.

Well,... you asked for suggestions. That's just my take on it. The critical part is that you provided excellent composition/ framing, details, etc. Without that, no amount of processing would have had any significant effect.

Terrific image and outstanding advice Jon. I would love to see a before image and one after making the adjustments you suggested. Are you game to give it a try Bsiegler?

Thank Jon! I'm going to attempt to make the changes you've suggested. I'll post the updated picture when complete.

Thanks to you too George!
