not long now for the rutting season to kick off, anyone fancy a early doors meet up at Richmond early October?

Would love to again but it waaay to far for me now :( I have a lovely place by me called Attingham Park that is renown for deer wandering like Richmond so I'm going to plan a lonesome trip there around the same time.

In other news, just finished soldering my extended remote control and extension cable, AF is a bit slow but it works, just took a photo at about 17ft high and it's wicked, will get photos tomorrow in the light... :)

Evening all. You've been busy on here today!
Nice new car Andy.. Mr G still hasn't sorted his car and it's in a worse state than Mark's
The wedding shots are great Matt.
Love the seals Linda - can't wait to get back to Norfolk again in a few weeks. We might go for another week in November too.
Lee that set from the Littlehampton place are fab - especially the flower.
The other Andy - get a 5D3, you'll love it ;) and what a lovely girlfriend to buy it for you.
Have a great weekend folks. We're doing a workshop tomorrow - which means much lazing around watching other people work, and much cuddling the puppy - must show you new pics, she's uber cute.
And yes - I'd be up for Richmond early one Sunday morning in Oct. :D

PS forgot Ian's planes - I like the second shot a lot more. Nice angles and colours.

Yes thanks, added to my options, although I'll probably downsize rather than go bigger.

I have found some timed at 14:29 so all being well just an hour out difference  as for whether there is one or more in that sequence worth showing remains to be seen ??? Will get back to all on that one!

Thanks Mark. IQ is really important as is ISO handling and for that i'm drawn to the 5, BUT.........while I cant run to a 1DX, I like the idea of a 1 series.

Think I'll look at the specs on a 1D4 and see if it does everything I need.

having used both i would whole heartedly reccomend the 5DIII over the 1D4. Better IQ, much better grain in high ISO ( the MK4's grain looks like little donuts for some reason?).
The 5DMk3 also has almost as many X focus points, has excellent autofocus , is lighter and you can take the grip off when you want to keep things light and compact.

Apart from pure shutter speed, i dont really see where the 1D wins (excluding the sound of a 1 series shutter which is divine of course)

:)

Well not great but here is one with the same timestamp "straight down the barrel" as Ian requested ~ this is the full frame and took a little more PP'ing than I usual apply though the LR5 radial filter I am finding quite usefull

IMAGE: http://1stdesignit.co.uk/potn/Barn%20Owl%20flying-5827.jpg

The exposure wherever the bird was flying against the mixed BG of light & dark caught me out way too often and sadly also with most of the BiF I was missing the critical focus :(

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p
