Nice Bluebells Richard, and they are very blue. I've had some come up alongside my workshop. I understand they arnt a flower that can be planted as such, they just appear.

Thanks Penel & BB. I certainly hope I can shoot in the Houses of Parliament, there isn't anything on there website saying Cameras aren't allowed.

Here's one I managed to get in London the other day when I went down for Physio.

Here be new images with my new toy :D

We had a walk to what must be acres of bluebells in the woods near Guildford and the second image was taken close to the woods ~ so far delighted with its performance with the 24-105mm though the couple of quick AI servo tests are a mixed bag but having said that the 7D would have been worse :( But as for the auto ISO, very usefull bearing in mind how well the higher ISO comes out is great. The RAW files still need the usual 'look tweaks' but the output sharpening in PS is far less than the 7D.

The blue bells do look good but are so invasive once they get hold, front garden is due for a blue bell cull I think this summer

That Oil Seed Rape was an eye full, the full frame in LR is quite something as viewed at 100% I can make out details in the buildings of the village in the distance........not enough there to make a meaningful print but the cleanliness of the resolution looked in a class of its own!!!

Yup, it is a superb bit of kit :D I thought my 24-105 was crisp on the 7D but what struck me was how much more pleasing the images are on the 5D.............will have to take care to tune my PP though with each body I have found that was needed anyway but it does look like lower sharpening is the order of the day.

Next is to try the 100-400 and get to grips with the "Case" settings on the AI Servo and whether they need tweaking?

A few of things that struck me ~

a) 99% of the time with previous bodies I used single centre focus point (when I say 99% ~ well I did move the 'point' around as needed but always single point) but thought I would try yesterday leaving it as "centre & the 4 support expansion" and on what I shot I could not detect a downside (so far)

b) setting the DoF button to switch between One Shot & AI Servo is good tool but wish the same action also switched the shutter action from one to high speed FPS

c) taking the CF card out to transfer the files and then reinserting it threw me because it defaults to switching to the SD and I had to manually change it back to the CF

d) the file naming now has choice so still thinking how best to make use of that functionality???

So any custom settings that work for you (and others with 5D3 or indeed 1Dx where common might help) and can share would be welcome :)

Hi BB, congratulations on the mk3, will take a look at my settings once I can concentrate a bit better (see below) when you take the card out to download the images 'don't' close the card door completely, then when you put the cf back in you wont have to change it.

Awesome kingfisher capture, so crisp / sharp it's unreal.

Well Friday was the day I had the remaining 6 top teeth pulled inc both K9's and a full plate - not feeling too good at the moment with the swelling etc come to the conclusion that teeth are are major design flaw, just hope that things settle down soon and I can manage something other than soup (cant even do bread with it).

Evening all. Hope you've all had a good weekend.

Managed to pick up a Lastolite triangular reflector for £2 this morning at a car boot. Well pleased. Just need to try it out now. Lol

I'm sure I'll find a use for it.

A freind is using Photobox hut is getting sick of its poor interface etc. are there any other site like it to sell your pics on that are reliable?
