Hi Dom

Looking at them one by one :-

#1
I like the subdued contrast range and that you have retained such sky detail. However, it is a pity that the grasses are growing out of her shoulder ;) and I wonder whether the 'look' would tighten up if you cloned out her thumb & clenched fingers just visible twixt seat & leg(s).

#2
Also nice though her foot looks grubby ;)

On both, do I recall that you have shown us Kristina before? Cannot recall if you have posted any profiles of her but with these slightly lower angles her lower jaw looks like it is a bit prominent in relation to her upper jaw???

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Evening all. Were off to London for a week, so will be my last upload for now.

We went to Wingham Wildlife Park last weekend, and had a great day. A couple of shots from the butterfly house, and Reptile House.

I really like the juxtaposition of the second shot Dom, might be inclined to crank up the contrast a little (but that's just a personal preference!) - good job

Thanks Lee, it is actually a full contrast preset in Silver Efx in PS.

I'm feeling a bit depressed photography wise I posted the set the above are part of on my Facebook page and the only comment I got was to congratulate the model on a great job and no mention of the photographer, me, who's page it is and took the photos you really have to wonder why you bother sometimes.

must be my monitor doing odd things - either way I think it's a very clever composition!

for what it's worth I would take comfort in that's the sort of thing an idiot says, after all the photographer is creating the shot and directing the model (or perhaps they thought it would impress the model!) - I was taking some shots at a mums & baby party on Saturday for a group of the wife's NCT class and one of the mums was saying how incredible the camera must be to get such wonderful pics, after saying this as I flicked through a half a dozen shots the penny finally dropped and she exclaimed "oh, I suspect you might have something to do with it" - sadly that sort of thing will never cease, I guess it's just how the inexperienced convey a compliment, we've just got to learn to take it ;):D

I'm having a bit of a rough patch anyway Lee and that comment just topped it off in the past couple of months all bar two models who've booked shoots have cancelled on the day of the shoot, some a matter of minutes before they were due to turn up, just not turned up and when they finally reply to repeated messages don't even say sorry, these same girls have even shot with other photographers on the days they booked with me. If it wasn't for Kristina I wouldn't be doing anything like this at the moment.

might be time to use some more professional models Dom, I know it can be rough when creative mojo is conspiring against you - don't let it get you down, I think it can be safely said we've all seen your portrait work come along in leaps and bounds and perhaps you owe it to yourself to get some decent, reliable people to work with - the folks who let you down probably deserve some social feedback on their general un-professionalism! chin up fella :)

Your right Lee, the plus side of it all is now I know who I can rely on for my personal projects which is about 5 models, now any body who asks if I do TF gets told no and I give them my rates. I have seen the shots from the shoot's the one's who messed me about recently have done with other photographers and they have not been all that so it's their loss as I keep getting told by Kristina she's been a great help encouraging me but she is bias I think.

Talk about razor thin DoF, nice control and the narrow zone of focus works nicely.

Dom, do not beat yourself up about it...............lack of Mojo hits us all from time to time and as for models 'not turning up or giving advance notice...' that is their loss though upsetting for you with the time allocated gone forever. Their bad form is sadly more about IMO modern society...............also evidenced by the "your camera takes great pics...." being said to Lee.

Lee, maybe next time at the same type of meeting stick it on a tripod and sit down next to it...............if asked why no picture taking tell them ever so politely with humour before you dismount it and start the session that you were told the camera takes great pictures so you though you had best let it carry on  No, I am not being totally serious but it is the same being said to me over the years gets my goat..............see my sig :( :)
