Whilst in Cornwall I had a wedding to cover, so here's a couple....

I picked up the 1DX just before leaving and a 600EX, however it turned out that my Pocket Wizards are not compatible with the 1DX in TTL mode, which I use a lot for garden wedding photos etc. So using the 5DII and Pocket Wizards, I managed to get the following, which summarised the day perfectly...

Cheers Rich, she spent a bit of time picking out some poses she liked from other images. The wedding shots are cracking. I usually just pick my favourite from a set to repost, but couldn't decide this time. Well done!

it should be sharp, difficult to determine a solution without seeing some pics tho' Wayne...

have you still got the files on a card? maybe you can use the AF point setting in the camera and see if it's in the place you expected/wanted it to be?

Lee, I still have the images in the computer. I didn't think of looking at that I go to be honest.

I was asked this morning if I would do a series of shots of work colleagues for a charity calendar they are putting together. It's going to be a calendar girls type theme. I get to shoot IN work so that will be cool, but not sure what I'm going to do about light. I'm guessing if I get flood lights nearby then it shouldn't be too bad. I did explain that there were others on site who could do it, but as they were from my old department they want me to do it. That way they can have a good laugh doing it too.

I'm going to need your help with this guys. Lol

They do a bit but I think it is part of the overall shot Rich.

Andy they are looking good, I think with HDR it is a fine balance before you go to far, the fact they are not obviously HDR is a good thing imo

Evening all.

I've had a look through, and it seems that maybe im just being fussy. I turned the AF point on in the viewer and it was a little bit out from where im suspecting it focusses. Im going to do the tape measure test ive seen a guy do on You tube.

Getting back to what i said earlier about the calendar ive been asked to shoot. Thanks Dom for the offer, i may need some lighting. Its going to be on the 28th of September, so let me know if this interferes with any of your plans.

I have to shoot it at work (Awesome) as no-one is allowed photography equipment on site. I cant shoot fences or boundaries for obvious reasons. Im thinking of some industrial type themes for the different months. Does anyone have any ideas??

I work in a Nuclear Power station by the way, but some areas are restricted. No-Rad stuff, so just the conventional side.

I have one 430EX but i can get more flood lights and portable lights if they will work.

Even though its shooting my work colleagues, and ive no idea which ones yet, im quite looking forward to it. I think it will be a right laugh.

Without seeing the locations all I can say be creative look for unusual things or angles that will make people think about what they are are looking at. Great opportunity you have there..............it has been some decades (scratches head ~ must have been early to mid 1980's) since I visited A&B but the one thing that struck me was the main road between the two of them and the sheer scale of the central buildings so I would think, assuming you can use the buildings as a backdrop without affecting security concerns, having views/aspects of those in some of the backgrounds would aid the "look" of the shot...............and what about offsite? Is there still that small building on the approach road all by itself could that combined with the plant in the BG make an image or two??? Edit ~ I think it had a flat roof, so with H&E taken into account maybe actually on the roof to change the aspect of/with the main site in the BG???

@ Swaffs ~ lovely wedding images and I would hope the B&G are well pleased with the results....all good but the angled one coming through the confetti shower is a cracker

@ Ian ~ nice lavender field though the sky does seem a tad overcooked???

@ Andy ~ nice architectural shots and the HDR is suitably subtle I have some HDR triplets to work on from our weekend away in Cambridge.............​.just had no real time or inclination to date to do any PP'ing

@ Radders & Ian ~ were you there together (at RIAT?) as both nice captures of the C-130 and the KC135 (707?)

I think it all has to be shot on site. I'm still waiting on all the nitty gritty bits.

Very sombre at work this morning. One of my friends and colleagues passed away lat night. He wasn't very old either but suffered a heart attack. He's a very fit guy and coaches local kids footy teams.

I've lost a couple of colleagues over the last couple of years, but as I was only chatting with him yesterday and having a laugh.

Hi Laurence, it's actually RAF Mildenhall, me and Ian went there back in 2010. You are correct too, KC-135, the C-130 is an MC-130 but i'll let you off...
