Great stuff. Love the reflections. Did you get any sunrise/sunset shots?

Thanks for the compliments. Yes, sparker1, we did hike a portion of the Highline Trail. Other trails we hiked included Red Rock Falls, St. Mary Falls, Apikuni Falls, and Hidden Lake, along with a hike around Swiftcurrent Lake.

Sunsets were not that interesting at Many Glacier, where we stayed for the first four nights. I did capture some early morning shots there, though. Here are a few from a couple different mornings. As you can see, we had calm winds one morning, enabling the reflections, and breezy conditions another morning.

There are the best of the evening shots:

We also had a one day stay at Many Glacier. After Glacier we moved through Banff and Jasper, whilst the scenery was stunning there were no great sunsets. With clear blue skies the sun just went behind the mountains and that was it.

That pretty much sums up the sunsets at Many Glacier. Sunrise was much better, as you can see from my last post, since the sun would light up a nice glow one the mountains as it rose behind us. I may have encountered better luck with sunsets shooting over Lake McDonald from Apgar, but we were never there in the evenings during our three nights staying on the west side of the park at Belton Chalet.

Your making me home sick. My house is in the flathead, I just never get to be there this time of year, as I am in OH working. I have not gotten to the High line since 20010 iirc...

Looks like you picked a good year had good weather even though its been a little on the warm side this year

Yes, the weather was perfect the week we were there. The only storm that week missed us. We actually hiked the St. Mary's Falls trail on the same day that three people were struck by lightening on that trail. We were fortunate to be hiking in the morning in good weather, while those people got caught on the trail as a storm blew through in the afternoon. Fortunately, it appears that all three people fully recovered.

Outstanding series, Scott. Of all the National Parks, Glacier is my favorite. Thanks for sharing these.
