I have unique situation / meeting this evening..

I have a bride and groom that I recently shot in Mexico in April. They happened to have flown into my city for a couple of days this weekend, and want to meet to go over options for a wedding album. (last minute decision from every angle.)

I'm slightly freaked out because this will be my first wedding album, and they actually want multiple albums to give to the family.

Knowing this couple, they will have a fairly large budget, but they probably won't go TOOOOO crazy. They have money, but they are also not frivolous spenders ;)

I assume my first question to them will need to be "What is your budget"... but my first question for other photographers, is "What do you charge just for your TIME to create an album?"

I can price out albums for them from different websites but I'm not sure what I should charge for my time on top of that.

I'm trying to figure out what all I need to bring to this meeting tonight, and what all I should be going over with them while they are here...

ALSO - are there any photo labs that have easy to use templates that could walk a beginner through this process and have a kick ass end product?

thanks so much everyone

Signed,

Slightly panicked...

I work my time into the price. I charge per page (one side = one page). I'm not sure about the labs, but I know there are some free templates online floating around.

As a start I look at what the album costs me, double it and then add design time on top of that. Usually ends up being 2.5x-3x album cost to me.

Millers Lab has a nice design program which would allow you change the album size but keep the design the same. Id look into it. :D
