My existing PC has a user/data SATA drive set up as a RAID 1 (mirroring) set. In theory, the two physical drives should have the same data on them. My new PC has a single available slot for a data drive - no RAID. Can I simply disconnect one of the two drives from my existing computer and plug it in to the new computer in the spare slot? Thanks. morph2_7 Goldmember 1,112 posts Joined Sep 2012 Location: Los Angeles More info | Aug 15, 2013 17:55 | #2 Your HD data is unreadable without the RAID controller. You can disconnect one of the two HDs in the mirror set and install it in the new PC but you will have to format the HD before using it.
