My new Windows PC has arrived, and I need to migrate from my existing machine to the new machine (Windows 7 64-bit in both cases). My existing PC has a user/data SATA drive set up as a RAID 1 (mirroring) set. In theory, the two physical drives should have the same data on them. My new PC has a single available slot for a data drive - no RAID. Can I simply disconnect one of the two drives from my existing computer and plug it in to the new computer in the spare slot? Thanks.

Your HD data is unreadable without the RAID controller. You can disconnect one of the two HDs in the mirror set and install it in the new PC but you will have to format the HD before using it.
