why is 5d2 missing out on a simple feature?

either that, or i couldn't dig out that function after using it for a couple of years.

i used to have this on my 550d - set self-timer for 2s, then fire X number of shots consecutively.

the 5d2 is able to set the timer, but not able to fire multiple shots at once. is that right?

If you buy an RC-1, RC-5 or N3 type remote control, you can take as many shots as you want. You won't have to depend on settings in the camera.

That's a feature Canon's designers think is interesting to amateurs playing with their camera. Thus the think these owner's would like to be in front of their own camera.

The 5D Mark II is designed as an alternative to the heavy 1D/1Ds series, aimed for professional photographers as well as serious amateurs, but at least people who prefer to be behind the camera rather than in front of it.

At least that's how Canon thinks their cameras will be used. Thus they equip them with features suitable to this line of thinking.

what are you trying to shoot? if you're simply trying to avoid camera shake and take consecutive shots while doing so, spend $5 on an ebay remote and hold the button down.
