I used to only shoot full Manual until a friend of mine turned me onto aperature priority. I do not want this thread to turn into a debate onto which one is better, but sometimes it's just convienent using Av.

Anyways my camera would meter just fine when using Av, but after about 1 1/2 hours of shooting inside with bright white lighting and white walls it stopped metering properly in Av. The camera started making the shutter speed too fast, so all of my pics came out dark. Now the only time I can get properly exposed shots is using Tv and M.

Just wondering if anyone else had a problem like this.

Have you tried checking your EC? Maybe you turned it down (via the quick control dial) by accident.

Don't feel bad. I tried shooting in TV/AV the other day...it was a big mess. Just go back to whatever its comfortable for you. I have been shooting manual with stop down method for ages. i didn't get used to not using stop down till mid-1990

Are you locking exposure in the modes other than Manual?

I pretty much use M, Av, and Tv modes (sometimes even Program mode) as the situation is appropriate. I've never had a problem such as you indicated. I'd check all my settings (EC, ISO, metering mode, etc.) and if I didn't find an obvious problem, I'd reset the camera to default settings and start over.
