This car is being auctioned off tonight in Monterey, CA by RM Auctions. It is a very distinct and valuable Ferrari as only ten of these models were produced. It is expected to sale for between $14M and $17M. Yes, that is millions. I work for the family who owns the car and has decided to sell it; all proceeds from the sale will go to charities. I was lucky enough to get a chance to shoot the car. I have no experience photographing automobiles so please forgive my errors. I would like to hear any feedback, C & C welcome. I don't think I will ever have a chance to shoot one quite this valuable again.

Too bad that you couldn't pick a better time to shoot it, but it looks pretty good in these.

This car just sold for $25,000,000! Thanks for the comments. I was simply shooting what I could get, there was a professional shooting and I was mostly staying out of the way!

Very nice car. Sometimes you just have to work with what the sky gives for the time you have.

The shoot was for the professional shooting the car for the sale. I got the chance to take a few quick shots, but I was staying out of the way. He was using OCF and I was shooting all natural light. This was a very hurried-up session as we had a dark storm moving in on us that actually caught the car outside in the rain with the top down. I left and they went back to shooting inside. I got a lifetime opportunity to photograph the most expensive publically-sold car in the US. There will be a whole lot of people touched by the charities that will receive the proceeds of this sale and it will forever be known as Eddie Smith Sr.'s Ferrari!

The video mentioned above was shot in Grimesland, NC mostly on the Grimes Plantation. I want to go out there some day and shoot. There is a completely restored home (ca 1790), original slave quarters, livestock barn, and other very interesting subjects. Search on YouTube and there is a neat vid on the restoration of the plantation house.
