Pronghorns have been introduced back into West Texas down around the Ft.Davis area .These four images are of two different Pronghorns on separate sides of the highway . I have no idea if both were males or one was male and one was female but both seem interested in what each other was doing . Hope you enjoy the pictures . These were taken with the XSi and a 70-200mm f/4L .

Great shots! You could've titled this "African safari" and I wouldn't have been the wiser haha!

Thanks Dave . They are fast ;) , and in areas where hunted they are hard to get close to . Not allowed to hunt these here . Only a small herd of less than 75 I think .

Nice photos of two large buck Antelope (which are quite territorial).

Thanks Tracey but these are not Antelope . A lot of ppl mistaken these for Antelope tho . These are Pronghorns brought in from other regions of the USA to readapt to the West Texas terrain . I read about these from the Ft.Davis State Park Interpretation center . A small herd of less than 20 were brought in to see how well they would adapt to the region . Antelopes are much smaller than these Pronghorns . There is Antelope scattered around Texas and I have seen small groups of 2 to 4 from Midland to Ozona but never more than 4 to a group . The ones I have seen were scrawny looking also and my guess less than 75 lbs . These Pronghorns are my guess around 100-140 lbs . You can read here and it explains about Pronghorns and Antelopes :
